About Wandsworth Young Person

Each year we ask local people to nominate special young people who have made an invaluable contribution to the community over the past 12 months.

The winner will receive a trophy and £500 with the runners up receiving certificates and smaller cash prizes. The initiative is open to young people under the age of 19 who live or go to school or college in Wandsworth. There are prizes for individuals and groups.

The Award rewards examples of good citizenship by recognising individual acts of courage and selflessness or the ability to overcome difficult personal circumstances. It also rewards young people who have demonstrated an exceptional talent.

The annual competition is organised by the council's Youth Service and sponsored by the Wandsworth Group of Rotary Clubs and the Keen Group.

A special prize giving ceremony is held at the Civic Suite in the spring attended by winners and their families.
